What were you doing prior to entering the seminary? I worked in the Colombian Navy for eight and half years. During my service, God permitted me to have many beautiful experiences in different parts of my country and to experience the diversity of the people of Colombia.
What influenced your decision to enter the seminary? It seemed as though I had everything: An excellent job in the Navy with a successful position, a very good salary and a very serious relationship with a wonderful woman. Yet with all of these, I did not feel happy and I believe that God always wants us to be really happy. I always prayed to God for His help in my life but I never asked what was His plan for my life. Then, I spent lot of time in prayer, spiritual direction and discernment. After that, I asked the Lord to reveal His plan in my life. Not only did I pray to God, but I must include my personal experience of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, who is responsible for my vocation to the Priesthood. With her love, she showed me the loving mercy of her beloved son Jesus Christ. After this, I spiritually cleaned my ears so that I could hear the call of God in my life. I took up my cross and now I am following Him. I appreciate your prayers. God bless you.
Advice to other young men considering the priesthood: I think that it is indispensable to include the plan of God in our lives. I can tell you that this is the best option because God knows what is best for us since He knows us better than we know ourselves. I invite all men to consider a possible calling from God to consider the Priesthood. This is the way we can save souls for our Lord Jesus Christ.
