Dear iRace4Vocations Participant(s):
Thank you so much for registering to attend our 5th annual iRace4Vocations at Washington Lake Park (626 Hurffville Crosskeys Road, Sewell, NJ 08080). I am very excited for this event on Sunday and believe that it will be a grace-filled day for all who participate.
The day will begin at 1pm with a Mass for Vocations celebrated by Bishop Sullivan. Mass will take place at the amphitheater. You may begin arriving any time after 11:30am. Arrive early so that you can park, get settled and complete your registration check-in. Praise and Worship music will be provided by “Messenger” as people arrive to get us into the spirit of the day. Beginning at 12Noon, priests will be available to hear confessions for those who would like to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a wonderful opportunity in this Jubilee Year of Mercy. There are no chairs or pews on amphitheater. Therefore, I would encourage you to bring a blanket or lawn chair with you for the Mass so that you do not have to stand the entire time.
Following Mass, registration check-in will re-open for those who still need to check-in. There will also be some kids’ games going on prior to the race. The 5K Run will begin at 3PM and the 1.3 Mile Walk will follow. A map of the courses (5K Run – 1.3 Mile Walk) are available with instructions. The day will conclude after the race with a picnic and family entertainment, including face painting, balloon animals, etc., from Creative Juices by Kari, LLC and music provided by DJ Father Ganiel.
What a wonderful opportunity Sunday will be for us to come together to celebrate our shared faith and to “ask the Master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest” (Lk 10:2). If you have other family and friends who would enjoy the day, please let them know that online registration is still available through our website until 12noon this Friday or they can register in person on Sunday.
iRace4Vocations is intended to be a faithraiser more than a fundraiser. If you have not yet started filling out your prayer pledge form, please do so, for our diocese needs people to be praying for more priests and religious! Remember, the top three faithraisers will win lunch with Bishop Sullivan. Prayer Pledge forms are available on the iRace4Vocations page.
To help defray the costs of the day, there will be baskets on the grounds for a free will offering. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday for Mass, the race and entertainment. Please know of my gratitude as your presence helps create a culture of vocations in our diocese.
Sincerely in Christ,
