I am one week into the start of another year in seminary. It is hard to believe that this is now my fifth year at Immaculate Conception Seminary. I am in Third Theology which means that I am approaching the time of ordination. The classes and the work begin to intensify and so do the expectations of the faculty as they guide me through the process.
I will meet with my new mentor for this year soon and we will go over the plan for me so that I can grow even more into the man and priest God is calling me to be. I even see that as an answer to an unspoken prayer as I received the mentor who I had hoped for because I believe that he can really help me this year to grow.
I am aware that through all of this God’s hand continues to guide me along the way. I learned a lot during my summer assignment at St. Clare of Assisi Parish and was blessed also to go to Rome in the summer with the Seminary. The year ahead is going to be challenging but I know that with the prayers of many and my own faith that God is leading me right where He wants me to be. I understand even more that it is through my growing relationship with God that the major part of my formation will take place. It becomes even more important as I approach ordination in that Christ is the One who calls me to serve His Church. Therefore, I ask the good people of Camden to continue to pray for more vocations to the priesthood so That the Church of Camden may be blessed with more holy priests to serve the Church in the coming years. I ask also that you keep my self and all my brother seminarians in your prayers as we continue our seminary journey.
